The Biker Style Wallet – An Overlooked Option For Men

In Motorcycles 60 views

Whenever I read an article about shopping for men’s wallets, I find a glaring omission. Seems the only styles these authors talk about are bi-folds and tri-folds, with a few nods to credit card cases sprinkled in. And I’m always left asking, what about the biker wallet? Yes, the biker wallet. It IS a distinct style, and it’s time someone wrote about it and why men should consider it as a viable option for their pocket.

Now, first things first, don’t be misled or put off by the name. I know, there’s an automatic picture that comes to mind when you hear the word “biker”. But you don’t have to ride a motorcycle to wear a biker wallet. And another thing – you don’t have to wear one with a wallet chain. Yes, biker wallets often have a hole to accommodate a chain, but that feature isn’t limited to this style of wallet and the attachment of a chain is strictly optional. But, you may say, aren’t there wallets where the chain is permanently attached? Yes there are, but they’re called “chain wallets” or “trucker wallets” and that’s a whole different article.

So what is a biker wallet and why should men consider it as an option?

The first distinctive aspect of this style is its shape and size. Generally bi-folds and tri-folds fold up to be almost square, but biker wallets are longer (hence bigger) and more of a true rectangle. They actually “fit the bill” because they’re shaped like dollar bills. The second distinguishing feature is the closure system. While many bi-folds and tri-folds simply fold closed, biker wallets typically snap closed and often the snaps are visible on the front of the wallet. That’s not only a stylish feature, but a security system as well!

The inside of a biker wallet varies, just like you find with bi-folds and tri-folds. You can get them very stripped down with a section or two for bills, or they can be packed with multiple card slots and compartments. Interestingly, many biker styles will have a zippered section for change-and that’s something you don’t see with your typical men’s wallet.

It’s when you consider the outside design choices that you may start to see some blurring of the lines between a biker wallet and a Biker’s (i.e. Motorcycle Culture) wallet. Sure, there are plenty of plain black leather or brown leather wallets available in the biker style. But there are also LOADS of biker wallets with skulls and crosses and studs and zippers and fancy stitching. So if you want a unique-looking place to stash your cash, and a true fashion accessory, you have tons of choices with biker style wallets.

I would be remiss if I didn’t take the time to thank you, my faithful readers for visiting our site and reading The Biker Style Wallet – An Overlooked Option For Men . I truly appreciate you!
